About Me
Tatjana Draese
Wolfmate – Partner for Leaders in Creating a Vibrant Safety Culture
My name is Tatjana Draese, and I bring 25 years of experience in leading the EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) field at both plant and corporate levels. Over my career — most of it spent in a Norwegian aluminum corporation — I’ve passionately worked both operationally as a safety specialist and strategically as a member of the management team. I have walked the path of developing a safety culture “in my own shoes,” experiencing its challenges and opportunities firsthand.
The Origin of the Name Wolfmate
In the world of safety, we often encounter different personalities: the wolves — bold opportunists who take initiative — and the sheep, guardians of high standards who ensure stability. Many leaders identify as wolves. I was one too—and that’s where my work begins.
As a “mate,” a reliable companion, I support leaders in making courageous decisions, bringing their teams along, and creating a culture where safety becomes second nature.
The name connects agile “wolves” among leaders with “mate,” my role as a dependable partner.
Wolfmate stands for a trusted, collaborative partnership in shaping a vibrant safety culture.
My Expertise – Knowledge Meets Practice
I bring not only extensive experience, knowledge, and passion but also a blend of proven, scientifically grounded methods like Hearts and Minds and Tripod Beta, alongside innovative approaches such as New View Safety.
With my combination of expertise and practical experience, I help companies and their leaders build a thriving and dynamic safety culture:
- I am educated as Safety Engineer and Specialist (BGETEM),
- Master’s in Communication and Organizational Psychology (FH Vienna,
- Accredited Trainer for Tripod Beta and Hearts and Minds,
- Member of the International Flying Squad Network, closely connected with the Stichting Tripod Foundation and the Energy Institute.
Colleagues appreciate me as a positive, optimistic, and people-focused leader with strong operational insight and practical solution-approaches.

When I’m Not Being Wolfmate,
I’m a mother of grown children and live part-time with a former stray dog in a small adventure: my husband and I travel in a converted firetruck — a fitting nod to my past as a fire brigade leader.
